Ingredients –
- Ilish Mach:- 6pieces
- Mustard seeds:- 2 tsp
- Poppy seeds:- 1tsp
- Green chilies:- 3to 4slit
- Cumin powder:- 1tsp
- Turmeric powder:- 2tsp
- Kashmiri Red Chilli powder:- ½ tsp
- Nigella seeds/ Kalo jeera:- ½ tsp
- Mustard oil:- ½ cup
- Salt:- As per taste
Complete Method To Prepare Hilsa Fish Curry
- · Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt, and keep aside.
- · Now take black and yellow
mustard seeds, 1tsp poppy seeds, add some salt, 3-4 green chillis and add 4tsp
water and grind to make a smooth paste.
- · Now also make a paste of turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt and water.
- · Heat oil in a pan, add Kalo jeera/nigella seeds. Once they stop spluttering, add the turmeric, cumin, chili powder paste. Fry a little, lower the heat.
- · Now add some water then add muster and poppy seeds paste, and let it simmer for 5 minutes on medium heat.
- · After 5 minutes add the marinated fish and cook for another 7- 8 minutes on low heat.
- · Lastly, add some mustard oil from sides of the gravy. Give it boil for 4-5 minutes then turn off the flame.
- · Ilish macher tel-jhol is ready to serve. Serve with steamed rice.
